October 31, 2024 — Some people might question why he wants to come back out at all considering the situation on the street. War stops for no man.
Nonetheless, Montreal mafia captain Nicky Spagnolo went in front of the parole board this week and showed contrition for the assault that landed him a three-year trip to prison, asking for an early exist into a day-release program. Car salesman “Nicky Spags” was arrested for stabbing a fellow patron in 2020 bar fight in Old Montreal’s entertainment district. In 2013, he took a pinch for illegal gun possession, but this is his first time in the can.
He attributed alcohol and the grief felt from losing a loved one to the current unrest in the Montreal underworld to his summer 2020 assault.

The Rizzuto mob is in the middle of a shooting, bombing and proxy war against the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club for control of gambling, drug and prostitution rackets in Quebec and Ontario.
Spagnolo’a dad, Vince, was gunned down in a gangland hit back in 2016. Vince Spagnolo was an alleged skipper in “Leo the Lawyer’s deceased-father Vito Rizzuto’s regime. The elder Rizzuto died of cancer in December 2013, his borgata engulfed in flames of war that has yet to cease and in 2022 came to include the Rizzuto mob’s allies-turned-rivals in the Montreal Hells Angels. The younger Rizzuto survived assassination in March 2023 in a highway shooting near his Laval headquarters.
